women’s engagement rings for petite fingers-Vintage Date 1943 'Utility' Rose Gold Wedding Ring

Qty:

A lovesome vintage 9ct Rose Gold wedding ring with a gorgeous gentle appeal in the patina it has developed over the years. A nicely chunky 'D' shape with rounded edges makes a comfy and familiar feel on the finger and it's a lovely choice to partner a vintage engagement ring as well as being an ethically sound choice.

The ring size measures an 'K' or '5' as is but we can alter a little to suit. Inside is the Utility mark which denotes that this particular ring meets the standards...

Wartime measures also saw the introduction of a ‘utility’ mark, the result of a Board of Trade Prohibition of Supplies Order of 1942. This restricted the manufacture of gold wedding rings to 9 carats and a weight of less than 2 dwts. To show they had been produced by government authority they were marked with a special punch featuring two circles, each with a section cut out, similar to that used on utility clothing.

Measures 3.44mm wide on the finger. Weighs 2.85 grams.
